1901: John Ritchie Bisset opened Sudbury Steam Laundry in Sudbury, Ontario to serve the growing needs of the retail and wholesale laundry market in Northern Ontario. John's son, Herbert Bisset, joined the company in 1937 and in 1967, Herbert's son, James R. Bisset entered the family business.

1972: JR identified a service that was missing in Northern Ontario businesses; he seized the opportunity and opened his own company.  Northern Uniform Service began to provide Northern Ontario companies with premier uniform and dirt control solutions to enhance their image and protect their employees.  

1989: JR built a modern facility with industry-specific equipment to handle the growth as he spread across Northeastern Ontario.  

1998: JR's wife Paige, a business consultant in the textile rental industry, formally joined the company.

1999: an opportunity was identified; to expand to the Southern Ontario market where customers were found to be unhappy with the service level provided.

2003: JR built a state-of-the-art facility in Bradford, Ontario staffed with local managers and employees.

2006: JR supervised a retro-fit to the production facility in Sudbury utilizing world-class technology to deliver the best product quality to customers.  The response from customers continues to be very positive, and now it's the standard to meet in our market.

2007: In his management team address, JR Bisset opened the meeting with the following:

“My commitment to this industry and this company has never been stronger.  Our customers are happy .  I am so proud of the team we have and their accomplishments.  I love to see the company grow.  And, I have always said that as we grow, it will come back to our employees.  That's why I'm committed to this business.”
